Q.

How close are the cottages to the water?

A. All the cottages are within 300’ from the water.
 
Q.

Do I need to bring my own linens?

A. No. We provide all the bed, bath and kitchen linens for all the cottages.  Bath and kitchen linens are changed daily.  REMEMBER to bring your own beach towel
 
Q.

Do you have efficiency cottages?

  No, our cottages have a fully equipped kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom.
 
Q.

How many people can sleep in each cottage type?

A.

The one bedroom cottage can sleep up to four (4) people, with the rate based on two people.

The two bedroom cottage can sleep up to six (6) people, with the rate based on four people.

Sassafras Point is spacious enough to sleep up to fourteen (14) people, with the rate based on 10 people.
 
Q. Do you charge for extra people?
A. Yes, $8.00 per person per night.  Extra person charge applies to any extra person, regardless of age.
 
Q. What method of payment do you accept?
A. We accept cash or check (personal, cashiers, business, etc.).  We do not accept credit cards for cottage rental fees.  Please have proper identification and phone number with checks.
 
Q. Will sales tax be added to my cottage rental?
A. Yes, 9.75% Tennessee sales tax will be added to all cottage rentals
 
Q. Are slips included in the cottage rental fee?
A.

No, slips are not included in the cottage rental fee.  We have three types of slips available for rent:
                   Open Dockage                $10.00 per night             $60.00 per week
                            
The following slips include storage locker, electric & water hook-ups.
                   10’ x 24’ Covered            $16.00 per night             $95.00 per week
                   13’ x 28’ Covered           $25.00 per night             $135.00 per week

 
Q. I have made my reservation, when do I need to send my deposit.
A.

You will need to send a check or money order within 7 – 10 days from the day you make the reservation.  You may be ask for a credit card if your reservation is less than 14 day away from the day you make your reservation.

 
Q. Do the cottages have TV?
A.

Yes, all the cottages are equipped with cable TV.  You may bring a VCR / DVD Player or game system if you wish.

 
Q. Do the cottages have a washer and dryer?
A. No, there is a laundry facility in Byrdstown, approximately 5 miles away.
 
Q. Is there a spot outside the cottage to build a campfire?
A. Yes, most of the cottages have a fire ring in front them. 
 
Q. Do you allow pets in the cottages?
A. No, we do not allow pets in any of our rental cottages.
 
Q. Do the cottages have grills?
A. Yes, all the cottages have charcoal grills outside.
 
Q. Are the kitchens fully furnished?
A. Yes, the kitchen includes:  toaster, microwave, coffee maker, stove, refrigerator, utensils, pots, pans and dishes.
 
Q.

Do the cottages have hot tubs?

A. No
 
Q. Q. Is there a fish cleaning station near the cottages?
A.

Yes, there is a fish cleaning station located on J-Dock.

 
Q. What is the cancellation policy?
A. With reasonable notice of at least 60 days, credit for your deposit, less a rescheduling fee, will be given to be used during the off season. Refunds will not be made in the event of cancellation or early checkout.
